With a Sociology degree from PSG Arts College, Coimbatore, Venki got into IIM Calcutta and has had a highly successful career in the Information Technology Industry since then. Presently, he is the CEO and Managing Director of Maarga Systems Pvt Ltd.

B.Tech from IIT Madras completed his PGDM at IIM Calcutta. Subsequently, he has worked at junior and middle management functions in Management Consultancy, Software and Internet industries. After heading an Internet Venture and successfully selling it to a large Indian ISP, he presently works for Inter Globe Technologies as its Business Development Manager for Europe and is based out of London.
